Please provided the needed initial state tournament information by July 17th.

Update on Summer 2020 Baseball and Fastpitch

Please be reminded that the Parks District conducts league play for boys 12 and under, while the Club operates and manages Cal Ripken All Star Baseball for 9-12 year-old boys.  There is no additional fee to play All Star baseball.  If your son desires to try out for Cal Ripken All Stars, he must be signed-up for Cal Ripken (11-12) or Midget League (9-10).   Your son's age as of May 1 determines his age for Cal Ripken Baseball purposes.  All Star tryouts are tentatively scheduled for the week of May 18 and practice commencing soon thereafter.  All Star state tournaments may be pushed back from their usual mid-July date.  Please monitor the Club's website for more information.  All Star baseball is an awesome opportunity for your boys and its interference with your lake, river, or weekend plans is grossly overstated.  If you are considering it and have questions, please give me a call.

The girls fastpitch season remains as scheduled.   Tryouts and the start of practice are tentatively scheduled for the week of May 18 .  More information will be forthcoming.

Because of the American Legion baseball cancellation, all boys ages 13-19  (must be 18 on or before December 31, 2019) will be playing Babe Ruth Baseball.  Practice for all boys 13-19 is expected to start the week of May 18.  The AA (Chiefs) and A (A's)  divisions will commence playing games after June 1 and will culminate with state tournaments for both divisions on August 4-8.  The AA play-in game will be held August 1.  The A West Region tournament will be held July 28-August 1 and the play-in game on July 25.  These dates were agreed upon at last night's meeting involving representatives of all AA and A teams.  The state tournaments for 13 and 14 year-olds may also be pushed back a little from the norm.

All players, fans, coaches, officials, and parents will be expected to exercise social distancing and abide by the requisite COVID-19 policies.  If you or family members are considered high-risk, please consider staying home or viewing the game or practice from afar.  While the Club will continue to provide equipment, if you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 through shared equipment, please consider purchasing your child's own equipment.  Please be reminded, per Club rule, all helmets (batting, catcher, and pitcher) and catcher's gear must be kelly green as the primary color with gold as the second color.  If your child has an off-colored helmet, it could be spray painted with kelly green.
